ROCHESTER, NY -- The Rochester Rhinos announced today that they have come to terms with defender Steve Kindel on a one-year deal and forward Errol McFarlane on a two-year deal.

(Josh Devins)

Kindel, appeared in over 240 matches with the Vancouver Whitecaps, mostly as a midfielder, scoring 31 career goals. The British Columbia native began his career with Vancouver, where he spent two seasons in 1997-98 before rejoining the club in 2000, where he was a fixture until the end of the 2008 season when he was released.

During his time in Vancouver, Kindel helped lead the Whitecaps to the 2006 and 2008 USL-1 Championships.

In addition to his USL experience, he also spent a brief period with R.A.E.C. Mons of the Belgian Third Division A. He saw action in 28 matches and scored five goals during that stretch. He has also earned four caps with the Canadian National Team from 1998-99 and 10 more with the Canadian U-23 team.

The 6’4” McFarlane joins the Rhinos from Trinidad and Tobago where he has earned 11 caps with the T&T National Team. He had been playing in the Lebanese Premier League with Al-Mabarrah. Prior to that, he had been to St. Ann’s Rangers of the T&T Pro League.

Both deals are awaiting USL, USSF and international approval.
