ROCHESTER, NY -- The Rochester Rhinos who begin the 2008 regular season with five straight road games will continue their road trip on the west coast this week with matches against Portland and Vancouver.
After dropping the first two contests of the season, Rochester will travel to take on the Portland Timbers on Thursday night and PGE Park in Portland, OR. Portland will enter the match with a league best 3-0-0 mark and nine points. They are led on offense by Chris Brown who has recorded two goals and an assist in three matches. In goal for the Timbers, Raymond Burse has allowed just one goal in three wins this season.
The Rhinos have recorded an all-time mark of 6-1-1 against the Timbers with their only loss coming last May when they dropped a 2-0 result in Portland.
The west coast road swing will continue for Rochester on Saturday night as they face the Vancouver Whitecaps at Swangard Stadium. Vancouver is 1-1-0 in two contests this season. Former Rhinos Martin Nash and Eduardo Sebrango lead the way for the Whitecaps. Sebrango has recorded one goal this season.
