ROCHESTER, NY -- The Rochester Raging Rhinos announced today that the team has re-signed goalkeeper Chase Harrison to a one-year deal with an option for the 2009 season.

Harrison was key during Vallow injury (20 Toe Photo)Harrison accumulated 1,620 minutes of playing time in 18 appearances with the Rhinos during the 2007 season. He earned USL First Division Team of the Week and Player of the Week honors for Week 7 after making 14 saves and allowing only one goal in a road win and draw. Harrison ended the season with 83 saves and two shutouts.

"We're glad to have Chase back," said Rhinos Head Coach Laurie Calloway. "He's a promising young goalkeeper who, with the unfortunate injury to Scott Vallow last season, now has more experience at the professional level than most goalkeepers his age.

"He's a constant professional and a great positive influence in the locker room."

A 2005 graduate of Virginia Tech, Harrison holds several school records. He totaled 24 career shutouts, eight single-season shutouts in 2005, 7,181 career minutes and a 1.12 career goals-against average. Harrison was drafted in the third round (26th overall) by Real Salt Lake in the 2006 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft. He was then loaned to the Virginia Beach Mariners. He signed with the Rhinos in April 2007.

"I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to return to such a great club with one of the best fan bases in the league," said Harrison "I am also looking forward to having the opportunity to working with Scott Vallow again and improve my game."
